James Taffin de Givenchy’s distinctive designs arise from his modernist approach to combining materials. In 1996, he founded TAFFIN in New York, a jewelry house known for embracing the unconventional. Originally from Beauvais, France, Givenchy was inspired by the city’s diversity and, after experience at auction houses and jewelry firms, established TAFFIN as a private salon. His sculptural pieces celebrate gemstones alongside unexpected materials—rubber, steel, wood, and ceramic, which he introduced in 2006—resulting in contemporary, one-of-a-kind creations that honor craftsmanship and history.
